How SBPR Secured 200 VIP Guests to The Bluewater Spa x Temple Spa Launch at The Connaught Hotel
THE BRIEF
The SBPR team were instructed to deliver a launch event at The Bluewater Spa located in The Connaught Hotel in Bournemouth to showcase the newly renovated spa facilities and highlight the spa’s exclusive new partnership with luxury British lifestyle brand, Temple Spa.
THE CHALLENGE
The team were challenged with securing 200 VIP guests and media contacts to a luxury launch event for the spa highlighting it as a prime spot in Bournemouth, gaining coverage in regional media, on local influencer blogs and social media channels, and encouraging people to purchase Temple Spa products.
THE SOLUTION
The team designed the invitations for the event in line with the brand and sourced invites complete with lavender fragrance and envelope seals to send out to VIP guests.
SBPR targeted a variety of high-profile business women in Dorset, a targeted group of regional lifestyle journalists, health and lifestyle bloggers and regular spa-goers.
With extensive contacts in the Bournemouth region, we compiled an exclusive guest list and personally invited each person. These invitations were managed, followed up and confirmed with reminder emails to ensure attendance.
Guests were invited to enjoy a prosecco and Mediterranean canapé reception, receive a full spa tour, indulge in complimentary mini treatments, and each received a Temple Spa goody bag to take home.
The Sunny Bird PR team followed up with each guest individually the next day, thanking them for attending.
To achieve press coverage of the event, the SBPR team researched and employed a local event photographer, giving them a thorough brief to ensure newsworthy shots, perfect for the society pages of regional press. We also liaised with journalists to secure coverage following the launch, sending out a press release and imagery, plus social diary style photos.
THE OUTCOME
Sunny Bird PR team hit the target and secured a total of 200 attendees to the event!
The evening was an outstanding success with guests posting photos on their social media channels all evening showcasing the new look of the spa, the Temple Spa products and the amazing food created by the in-house catering team. Guests also spoiled themselves, booking future spa days at Bluewater Spa and purchasing a range of the luxury Temple Spa products.
Following the event, we achieved eight pieces of regional coverage, which appeared in the Bournemouth Echo, Dorset Living magazine, House magazine, a number of online platforms as well as the blogs and social media channels of Bournemouth’s most sought-after influencers and businesswomen. In total, the coverage achieved reached a total of 58,739 people!
