How SBPR Secured 170 VIP Guests and BBC Coverage for Revolción de Cuba
THE BRIEF
With our wealth of launch event experience, it was a natural fit for Revolución de Cuba to work with us on the launch of their brand new restaurant and bar on Above Bar Street, Southampton.
THE CHALLENGE
Revolución de Cuba Southampton wanted to launch their new bar and restaurant with a bang, getting chins wagging across Hampshire. They also wanted to position themselves as an upmarket bar that is perfect for after-work drinks, so the challenge was how to reach a specific target market of employees in Hampshire and get them to the venue.
THE SOLUTION
SBPR supported the opening of the restaurant and bar with a targeted media relations outreach and guest list. The team carried out intensive research into businesses in the Southampton region, targeting those that may be interested in booking their Christmas parties at Revolución de Cuba, or referring their own customers down to the bar.
THE OUTCOME
As a result of our targeted approach to businesses we secured a massive 171 people on our guest list, smashing our target of 70. We also helped out on the night to make sure the event ran as smoothly as possible, introducing guests to the Revolución de Cuba team to help them reach their goal of more party bookings.
Our targeted outreach to the media also led to star pieces of coverage with BBC News who covered the opening on their South Live page, Facebook and Twitter, as well as Southampton targeted publications such as Invest in Southampton and Hampshire Living. All in all, the media coverage resulted in a potential reach of over 2 million people and an advertising value equivalent of over £50,000!
